Julian Dennison fronts My Food Bag campaign

Julian Dennison, the young star of Hunt for the Wilderpeople, appears as the face of My Food Bag's 'bargain box' offering in a new spot conceptualised by Saatchi & Saatchi and directed by Paolo Rotondo from Flying Fish.

Saatchi & Saatchi won the My Food Bag account earlier this year, and the agency was immediately put to work.

In addition to developing the TVC, Saatchi also played an integral role in designing the branding, packaging design, website and online content accompanying My Food Bag's more affordable option.

"It’s been a lightning-fast ride getting all the Bargain Box campaign elements ready for launch – working across everything from the packaging design, to the website, through to the TVC," said Guy Roberts, the joint executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi. "It’s been a brilliant experience from start to finish with our awesome clients. I’m really proud of what the team has produced."

This TVC also adds to the growing media prominence of Dennison, who has enjoyed a fruitful period of on-screen success since 2013, appearing in Shopping, the 'Blazed As' commercial for NZTA and most recently in the critically acclaimed Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

And given that he is fast becoming a millennial media darling, we asked him a few questions on what media he consumes when the camera isn't on him.
