Burger King has been getting a fair bit of love on Facebook for its Joseph Parker promos, which involve a couple of stereotypical marketing lackeys begrudgingly acquiescing to the boxer’s demands and aim to reward customers with special short-term deals if he wins. And Burger King and Colenso BBDO are continuing to have a laugh at their own expense with an ad that riffs on the fast food industry’s penchant for stretching the truth in its ads.
We made a big mistake. Or maybe it’s a long mistake. Either way, it’s tasty news for you.

Perhaps riffing on the classic client feedback line of ‘can you make the logo bigger?’, the ad shows one our hapless protagonists drawing himself riding a unicorn and the other misconstruing his instructions to make the burger bigger. And, as it says on the clip: “We made a big mistake. Or maybe it’s a long mistake. Either way, it’s tasty news for you.”
With Parker’s next fight on Saturday, BK is putting its profits on the line for promotional purposes once again and, if he wins, offering half price BK Chicken and BBQ Double Cheeseburgers between 11-4 on Sunday.
Joe Parker just called us and left a message. Oh boy.
