Cannes Lions have named Motion Sickness as the leading agency across Aotearoa, Australia and the Pacific and one of the top five independents globally. The news comes from Cannes Lions' rankings in its 2025 Global Creativity Report. Motion Sickness GM and partner Alex McManus says this recognition means a lot to the team who say it is "pretty incredible" to have their work recognised on the world stage.

Meanwhile, Kargo has launched Spotlight, a display format that delivers ads at the moment users are most attentive, combining behavioural signals, premium creative and exclusive publisher access to maximise brand engagement.

Media expert Antony Young has your round up of global media headlines: Halloween is overtaking April Fools in terms of 'marketing weirdness'; Gen Z is gravitating towards 'micro luxuries'; and German firm Böcker has launched a new ad campaign after one of its lifts was used in Louvre heist.

In Movings and Shakings, M+C Saatchi Group have promoted Emma Robbins to group chief creative officer and in Accounts, NZ Blood has appointed Remade as creative partner.
