Media expert Antony Young has rounded up media news from around the globe, kicking off with California governor Gavin Newsom's comms team's Trump-inspired social strategy that drew mixed views from critics and consumers alike. Included in this week's edition, is the news that Netflix has also gone full horoscope hottie, curating watchlists based on viewers' zodiac signs.
On Friday, the catwalk at NZ Fashion Week was overrun with dogs, as part of a collaboration with local charity Greyhounds as Pets. The show, Greathounds, was delivered via Special, and is part of a wider campaign to raise awareness of the 2,500 greyhounds that are in need of a home as dog racing is phased out in Aotearoa.
Pizza chain HELL is sparking conversations about cannabis with its new pizza, Doobious, that comes with a grinder and an unlabelled bag of herbs.
Before we go, food magazine Dish has topped the charts with a 50% audience jump, according to new figures from Roy Morgan. Its cross-platform audience of 237,000 puts it on the podium of New Zealand’s most-read publications, behind only AA Directions (493,000 total audience) and New Zealand Listener (278,000).
