TVNZ has been named the free-to-air broadcast partner for Provincial Rugby, including the National Provincial Championship (NPC), selected Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) matches and the Heartland Championship Finals. This agreement is set to begin with the 2026 season. TVNZ chief executive Jodi O'Donnell says she's incredibly proud to be bringing rugby back to TVNZ after 30 years.

Sky has announced new leadership, with chief media and data officer Lauren Quaintance announcing her departure from the business. Juliet Peterson is joining the team as chief business officer from her previous position as head of networks ANZ at Warner Bros. Discovery. Reuben Wirem has been seconded to Sky Free as senior director of creative, marketing and publicity.
