Human interaction has been the theme of this week. Yesterday, the StopPress team attended the Marketing Association's annual Brand Summit event, which sees leaders from across the industry take to the stage to share key learnings and insights while also provides ample opportunity for networking. Deep and authentic connection was constantly referenced as a key to success - make the time to get to know and understand your people so that they can relate back to your brand.

TRA has more on this theme with the release of its Mood of the Nation survey which shows people are feeling optimistic about the future of technology but also sceptical. "What we want is human," says the report.

Independent analytics company Mortal is celebrating the official launch of knOOH, the first unified audience measurement system for Aotearoa. Mortal developed the tool and its launch is the culmination of a "long journey", says GM Tim Macmillan.

On Wednesday, I attended the launch of The Long Play, The Spinoff's new podcast about vinyl that has been pressed to vinyl. Again on the theme of human connection, the resurgence of vinyl over the last decade or so is due in part to that desire. Podcast hosts, music journalist Charlotte Ryan and The Spinoff founder Duncan Greive, explore the "warped history" of records in Aotearoa and why they have returned to the mainstream.

There’s lots more on the site, including the New Zealand International Convention Centre appointing Special PR to lead its 2026 launch, and AUT launching its brand refresh: Knowledge That Works. IAB New Zealand have released a new whitepaper, designed to make adopting sustainable advertising practices easier and more practical. And for the crime drama fans, Michala Banas and Brett Tucker take on the lead roles in a new show on TVNZ, Blue Murder Motel.

Have a lovely weekend, we'll see you next week. Mā te wā,
