Festive cheer continues to ooze from the telly this week. And Cadbury does something right for a change with its Yuletide offering.
Ian Audsley, formerly the chief operating officer of the Nine Network in Australia, has been announced as the executive director of television for MediaWorks NZ TV. He will join the board and commence work in January.
First there’s a press release from TV3: “November has seen Nightline pull away from its competitor TV ONE’s Tonight in all key demographics.”
Then there’s one from TVNZ: “The latest news numbers show Sunrise lost a quarter of its audience in November while NZI Business and Breakfast continued to edge ahead.”
MediaWorks NZ CEO Brent Impey will be stepping down from the role at the end of this year after nearly 10 years in the hot seat.
Tuesday 17 November was the biggest news night of the week, with ONE chalking up 657,720 viewers and 3 News nabbing 350,070. TVNZ continues to dominate (and gloat). Best of the ad bunch: Circulon kitchenware evokes elderly tattoo cringe, a future scourge that should really be investigated by some kind of taskforce.
All the big ones collated for your viewing delectation. The new 2 degrees ad elicits a chortle. And, rejoice, no more macarena.
Biggest viewing nights this week were Tuesday: 578,060 for One News and 357,560 for 3 News and Thusday: 601,990 for One News and 378,510 for 3 News.
Best night this week was Monday 12: ONE News had 632,800 viewers and 513,790 for 3 News.
The top ad spenders of the week. Massive Monday the 5th drew 709.060 viewers on TV One and 425,530 on TV3 – that’s a lotta reach.
