Health isn’t the easiest thing to talk about, and men, in particular, aren’t known for divulging much on the topic. So in the lead up to Men’s Health Month in June, the Men’s Health Trust (MHT) has created a conversation starter, with a new campaign featuring prominent Kiwi men as ‘Goodfellas’.

With thousands of people around the world still without a reliable supply of water, Oxfam NZ has released a short film starring comedian, writer and TV personality Te Radar urging New Zealanders to go 24 hours without turning on their taps.
A record number of attendees, dressed in their finest, made their way to the The Langham in Auckland last night to celebrate the 2016 TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards winners. Ben Fahy, publisher and editorial director of Tangible Media’s business network and Marketing Association chief executive Gill Stewart hosted the event, while comedian and television personality Te Radar stepped on stage again as MC.
2012 marks the 21st anniversary of the TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards. And, in keeping with the traditions of the land, it emerged into adulthood this year with a new central theme of Everything Marketing and eight new categories, including financial, technology, automotive, utilities/communications, lifestyle/travel/leisure and sponsorship. And coming out at the head of the field with the supreme award was Volkswagen, with ex-Westpac and soon-to-be BNZ head of brand Ian Moody named as marketer of the year, Whittaker’s Jasmine Griffin named as rookie marketer of the year, Air New Zealand taking the marketing excellence award and Pfizer, Z Energy and Red Witch both picking up multiple awards.
We all know Kiwis suck at getting their tickets early and love nothing more than giving event organisers coronaries by leaving it all until the last minute. So, for all of you who fit into that category, there are still some tickets available to the TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards being held tomorrow night at the Langham. Get ’em here and bask in the glory of the nation’s biggest game changers. And while you’re at it, check out the last instalment of TVNZ’s sponsorship leveraging, this time featuring the night’s MC Te Radar and One News newsreader Greg Boyed offering up some handy tips on effective networking.
With a combination of pomp, ceremony, donuts, coffee and the unflinching enthusiasm of Te Radar, a stellar line-up of speakers for this year’s Semi-Permanent “design symposium” was announced last week at The Church in K Rd. And there’s plenty on offer for the Kiwi marcomms community this time round, particularly in the interactive and experiential marketing fields.
