The ideas have been dreamed up, the work has been displayed, the sucking up to creative leaders has been done, the leftover nibbles have presumably been wrapped up in napkins and taken home, and another bunch of advertising students have learned a few tricks to help them into gainful employment. Here are some of the highlights from AUT and Media Design School.

In 2013, the students enrolled at Media Design School and AUT Adschool caught the attention of several leading agencies with work that was not only creative but also commercially viable. So impressed were the bigwigs in attendance at the end-of-year shows that they swooped in and hired several of the young bloods shortly after the event.

Another crop of bright young advertising things has been put through their paces at AUT University’s School of Communications this year. And, with 12 of the 19 students who showed their wares at the end of year show getting placements, Paul White, senior lecturer/creative director of the Ad Creativity course, says it was a pretty good vintage.
