Massey goes mobile with New Zealand’s first iPhone-created TV ad

It really is quite amazing how much technology is being packed into our pockets at the moment. And Massey University and Assignment Group’s Wellington office have shown just how far things have come—and how ‘the engine of the new New Zealand’ is changing the lives of people here and around the world—by getting the University’s vice-chancellor Steve Maharey to film its new 30-second commercial on an iPhone, something the Commercial Approvals Bureau has confirmed is a New Zealand first.

One for the regions as Tracta wins Massey University business

Putting an account up for pitch soon after the launch of a big repositioning campaign is fairly unusual, but Massey University, which recently used successful alumni like Kate Sylvester to announce the institution’s position as ‘the engine of the new New Zealand’, has done just that. And Napier-based agency Tracta has claimed victory after a seven-way pitch, beating out the Foundry, The Church, Buffalo, Ogilvy and TBWA with its heartland agency proposition.

And it’s so good it’s been selected to show at the upcoming Anti Design Festival in London.

Kiwi researchers win prestigious US marketing award

Professor Sylvie Chetty, a marketing researcher from Massey University, and Professor Colin Campbell Hunt of Otago University, have won a prestigious award for a 2004 article that challenged existing theories and showed companies export in their own “Kiwi way”.
