After a bit of a rough patch, the newly rebranded ‘global boutique’ Y&R NZ has been slowly getting back on the good foot, with some nice work for the likes of HRV, Shapes Roadies and ACC, and some big names being added to the staff roster, among them Josh Moore as executive creative director, Ross Goldsack returning as non-executive director and Scott Henderson manning the fort in Wellington. And now there’s another big change to announce, with the chief executive of seven years Jon Ramage stepping down and being replaced by Moore.
Y&R NZ has been appointed as the creative agency for Quickflix Australia and New Zealand and will start immediately on developing separate campaigns for both markets. And Quickflix is certainly going to need some help in this market, as it seems to have largely gone under the radar since launching with a call to the government to regulate content rights because they hinder broadband uptake.
Y&R has been on the hunt for a replacement executive creative director since Vaughn Davis departed in September last year. And it’s managed to lure one of our boys back home, with Josh Moore, a Kiwi lad who has been working in Sydney for the past five years as executive creative director and partner in US Sydney, taking up the role.
Y&R has appointed Jason Wells as its national creative/ideas director, a newly created role that covers both the Auckland and Wellington Y&R offices.
