Nga Taonga Sound & Vision’s hoping to take New Zealanders on a trip down memory lane with its online advertising exhibition, which is as much of a look at our country’s society as it is the advertising industry.
Advertising veteran and co-founder of Idealog David MacGregor has organised an exhibition of work by a collection of what he describes as “New Zealand’s faded advertising stars”. Dubbed Escape Artists, the exhibition will launch at the Depot Artspace in Devonport on 3 September, with a charity auction of works by the featured artists at 2.00pm.
Former Kiwi adman turned full-time artist, Josh Lancaster, will have an exhibition of his artistic wares at the Smyth Galleries on Auckland’s Jervois Road for three weeks from 28 June.
Those who enjoy the seamless and simplified branding of Huffer might just enjoy a current solo exhibition of the work of Ken Griffen, the former artistic director of the brand who is exhibiting at Auckland’s Allpress gallery with his first solo show Face Value until 6 June.
