Late last week Cure Kids’ campaign consisting of a video clip for a song, dubbed Team, Ball, Player, Thing as a fight against Batten disease and a Rugby World Cup sendoff featuring, well, pretty much every New Zealand celebrity blew up, with news of the clip dotted all over the internet. Cure Kids and Augusto worked tirelessly on the campaign and faced some big challenges (like not having all of the featured celebs in the same room when filming, for instance). Here’s a look behind the scenes to see how this enormous project came together.
It’s amazing what lengths some people will go to get a job. But would you pay for a one-month internship at an ad agency? That’s what Colenso BBDO is asking for as part of an charity initiative to raise funds for Cure Kids. And, as a result, social media knickers are once again in a twist.
Cure Kids’ Red Nose Day fundraising effort culminated in the 3.5 hour televised event Comedy for Cure Kids on TV3 on 23 August, which raised $1.4 million for child health research in New Zealand. And Film Construction played a big role, filming eight short, cardboard-heavy films for the broadcast.
Japan has a well-earned reputation for making batshit crazy ads like this, this or this. So, as part of the Comedy for Cure Kids on TV3 last week, Corey Jane punk’d some of the All Black newbies and tricked them into thinking they were filming an ad for the Japanese market.
