A terrible effing mistake

Here at StopPress we’re a fan of F-words. We mean fun, fantastic and fabulous, of course!

Online accommodation-booking website Bookabach is also a fan of F-words. Monday morning, the company sent out a newsletter with the subject line “Three ‘F’ing good reasons to go away”. Apparently some people thought Bookabach might be referring to sweary-type words. Silly people. Where’d you get that idea?

Bookabach must have been inundated with outraged emails, because by the early afternoon the company’s chief executive, Peter Miles, had issued an apology.

“Judging by the response we received from this morning’s Bachchat we’ve realised we well and truly overstepped the line with our newsletter’s subject title,” Miles says in the email.

“We would like to whole-heartedly apologise to you if you were offended. The ‘Fs’ we were referring to were food, festivals and fitness of course – but nonetheless, we understand that you may have taken offence at the reference to the other ‘F’ – the swear word.”

WTF, Bookabach. WTF.
