The Simpsons couch makes French connection

French director and animator Sylvain Chomet is the latest to transform the famous Simpsons Couch gag with a new style and it's possibly the weirdest version yet.

Chomet joins a stellar lineup to have given the series' trademark a revamp, including Guillermo del Toro, Bill Plympton and Banksy.

The latest iteration shows Homer feasting on snails, Lisa saving a goose from Bart and a DIY goose liver pate kit, only for it to be dragged away by a feral-looking Santa's Little Helper. Marge's search for a missing Maggie is resolved when it's revealed the toddler is wedged in Homer's butt crack.
