Robots are GE's latest Brilliant Machines

GE is celebrating staging a concert in New York's Union Square with the latest instalment in its Brilliant Machines campaign.

This one features a band that's literally heavy metal: the members of Compressorhead are robots Fingers, the lead singer, Stickboy, a four-armed drummer and Bones, the bass player.

With the keywords hardware, software, beware, GE is trying to show how software and hardware come together to create new technology. The concert comes complete with free power and wifi for punters, pyrotechnic effects and adoring groupies — plus a livestream on Spotify.
