Post-it wars champion announced

Inspired by the Great Post-it Wars of 2016 in New York, OfficeMax launched its Instagram in June and posted a picture of a cartoon bird made out of Post-its on its head office window. When Warehouse Stationary followed suit with a Pac-man, the idea sparked a local Post-it war and soon windows all over town became works of art.

OfficeMax quickly realised it was onto a winner and launched a competition across social media. Participating workplaces sent in photos of their Post-it handiwork to OfficeMax’s Facebook page, with the most-liked up for a $200 shout.

The competition was taken quite seriously, with inter-corporate challenges abounding. Southland-based neighbours DesignBase and Market South battled, as did many of OfficeMax’s franchises.

While OfficeMax attempted to popularise Roy Lichtenstein-inspired artwork, cartoons tended to be the subject of choice.

Everybody from Spongebob Squarepants to the Minions was represented, although some unorthodox subjects made it into the mix – OfficeMax Highbrook’s Donald Trump takes the cake, but this team didn’t stop there.

We think this one at our Highbrook office could #trump the others! ? #postitnotewar
