Ordering pizza from inside a Teahupo’o barrel

The name ‘Teahupo’o‘, which was given to the Tahitian surfbreak widely considered one of the heaviest in the world, roughly translates to English as ‘to sever the head’ or ‘place of skulls’—and for good reason. Since 2000, there have been five recorded surfer deaths, and countless others have been dragged across the razor sharp reef that lies under just a few feet of water.

And despite the risks involved, Visa sent surfer Kolohe Andino into the barrel armed with a mobile phone and a Go Pro camera in an effort to show viewers how easy it is to order pizza through its mobile platform.

During the clip, which is narrated by Morgan Freeman, Andino is given instructions on how to use the platform, before the scene shifts to him paddling onto a wave with the phone in his mouth. After taking off on a pretty sizeable set, Andino successfully manages to order the pizza while encased in an azure chamber of water—thereby illustrating that Visa’s mobile platform can be used in pretty much all circumstances (except when your battery is dead, when location has no reception or when your body is being pounded into a reef by an immeasurable volume of water).
