Extinct

WWF has created a potent ad campaign via Geometry Global Copenhagen around endangered animals, creatively using YouTube to spread its message.

An ad as part of the campaign, called ‘Extinct’ informs viewers that in the time it takes to watch a YouTube clip, an endangered animal will become extinct.

For the campaign, videos of various endangered animals uploaded to YouTube were replaced with the kind of messages we normally see when illegal content is removed, except instead there were messages about the dangers threatening the dwindling population of these animals.

For example when clicking on a video of polar bears, this message came up “This content is no longer available due to global warming. In just 40 years more than 50% of the world’s wildlife has disappeared.”

Makes you think.
