As they always say, those in typo-ridden online glasshouses shouldn't throw stones, but we couldn't help but point out a little faux pas by our national carrier, which is using the 60th anniversary of the ascent of Mt Everest to promote $5 domestic fares on Grabaseat. Pity it—and nzherald.co.nz—spelled Sir Ed's name wrong.

Air New Zealand will take low fares to new heights tomorrow, with Grabaseat offering more than 500 $5 airfares to commemorate the 60-year anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s conquest of the world’s tallest peak.
Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay became the first to reach the summit of Nepal’s Mount Everest 60-years ago on Wednesday.
The Grabaseat fares to a variety of New Zealand destinations will go on sale from 9am tomorrow.
Grabaseat Manager Duane Perrott says May 29 is a big day in New Zealand’s history and it’s entirely fitting to offer the $5 airfares with Sir Ed gracing the $5 note.
However he warns the ludicrously low-priced fares are unlikely to stick around too long.
“Customers keen for a cheap fare will need to keep an eye on the Grabaseat website throughout the day as new routes are added. Unlike Sir Edmond Hillary’s lengthy climb of Everest these fares will be snapped up within minutes,” Mr Perrott says.
