Cracking the hiring code

We’ve seen a few companies turn their back on traditional staff recruitment lately, and now Aussie tech firm Big Commerce has done the same thing, in an even geekier way. In its search for engineers, it put posters up in Sydney with tear off strips traditionally reserved for phone numbers, according to News.com.au. But instead of a phone number there was a complex code candidates had to crack to decipher the number to call the company’s ‘batphone’.

Several people were able to do just that, as seen on Big Commerce’s Facebook page. It’s easy to see why people want to work there – the company’s website bigcommmerce.com says it has a games room, boat parties, casino nights and a fully stocked beer fridge.
