Zavy + StopPress Social Scoreboard: Air New Zealand feature John Oliver, Facebook remains on top

Looking at September’s social media activity, it’s a familiar sight of Air New Zealand holding the lead, however, across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube there's been some competition for the top spot.

Overall Air New Zealand is leading the social scoreboard in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. With their top post featuring English comedian, John Oliver. In this post Air New Zealand suggested that John Oliver host one episode of his show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver in New Zealand as he offered a solution to correcting maps which didn’t feature the country of New Zealand. The Air New Zealand post generated 4.5k likes, 218 comments and 187 shares.

Mitre 10 is currently dominating YouTube, with a flurry of ‘How To’ video content over February.

The ongoing Mitre 10 Easy As series includes comprehensive instructional videos for our to do regular household DIY. Topics include Kiwi classics like 'how to build a deck', 'how to build a fence' and 'how to build a retaining wall', a long with more modern topics such as 'how to grow succulents and cacti' and 'how to set up a worm farm'.

With summer beginning to wane in New Zealand, Flight Centre’s post of 'People Who Will Have An Epic Holiday In 2019' campaign encouraged their followers to tag a person they knew on the list/ The post attracted 1.6k likes, 3.7k comments and 391 shares.

As the new Samsung Galaxy S10 hits New Zealand’s shelves, Harvey Norman had one to give away. As to be expected the post gained 2.3k likes and reactions, 6.5k comments and 161 shares.

Compared to other social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, Facebook remains the top performing channel, having the most evenly dispersed Zavy Index Scores between brands.
