‘We live in a dynamic environment…’

…as another senior Adshel staffer departs, Val Morgan welcomes a new national sales director, the Newspaper Publisher’s Association announces a new business and marketing manager, and GrabOne adds to the family.

Adshel departures: part deux

After three years with the Adshel, Elvira Lodewick, the marketing director for Australia and New Zealand, has tendered her resignation and will leave in December. This news follows on from the departure of chief executive Steve McCarthy a few weeks back.

“I joined Adshel with two key objectives,” Lodewick says. “Firstly to optimise the introduction of the outdoor media’s outdoor measurement system MOVE. Secondly, to apply my online media experience to innovate Adshel’s offering and overall customer experience. Adshel currently has a very strong market position, with the highest-ranking R&F scores in the industry and a successful range of engaging mobile and digital solutions. Although it’s been a tough decision to leave a fabulous team and company, it’s now time for a new challenge.”

Mark Thewlis, regional president Asia Pacific, Clear Channel International, says Lodewick has been instrumental in developing and strengthening the Adshel brand and proposition.

“Her strategic marketing approach, strong work ethic and commitment to the highest possible level of service and performance have made Adshel a better business. I thank her for her contributions and wish her every success in the future.”

Lodewick was marketing director Asia Pacific and Latin America for Nielsen’s online division NetRatings before she joined Adshel.

New in the Hood

Val Morgan Cinema Network has appointed Suzie Hood as its new national sales manager.

Hood has an extensive media sales background and her previous roles include group sales manager at Cudo, sales manager at Hypermedia, and eight years at TVNZ as group sales manager.

She replaces Keryn Fowlie who moved to iSite.

Adding Stiles

Jenny Stiles has been appointed business and marketing manager at the Newspaper Publishers’ Association, taking over from current NAB general manager Robert Munro, who leaves in December after six years in the role.

Her role involves developing revenue and marketing of newspapers nationally, as well as management of its Newspapers Work brand and the Newspaper Advertising Bureau.

Stiles has a ten-year career in newspaper marketing, which spanned senior roles for both Fairfax Sundays and at APN with The New Zealand Herald.

She has also had extensive experience across the advertising and market research industries, having spent four years as planning director at DDB and more recently as marketing and fundraising manager with the Foundation for Youth Development.

“Newspapers and their websites remain the country’s top content and revenue medium,” says NPA chief executive Tim Pankhurst. “We have a good story to tell and are delighted to have someone of Jenny’s calibre to help us do that.”

Stiles has worked as a marketing consultant for the NPA over the past year and will continue to work part-time for the NPA before taking up the full-time position in January.

A family affair

GrabOne has launched its seventh vertical site and this time the deals are dedicated to experiences and products for families and will be available for one week. Families launched in Auckland, followed by Wellington, with additional regions planned for the near future.

“We spotted a gap in the market that allows us to give our Grabbies and their families experiences they can all enjoy together,” says Shane Bradley, GrabOne chief exec and founder.

In October GrabOne launched GrabOne Home & Garden, a website specialising in gardening, home renovation, handyman and DIY, outdoor equipment and homewares.
