Vodafone Warriors offer ‘own a game day’ at Mt Smart

Vodafone Warriors chief executive Cameron George has announced a new commercial concept, calling for marketing agencies and interested companies to present a proposal for their brand to get in front of Vodafone Warriors fans at one of the club’s home games.

Applications are now open for a selected brand to ‘own a game day’ at Mt Smart Stadium and deliver a “wow experience” for fans when the Warriors play the Melbourne Storm on Saturday 8 June.

George says there is a real opportunity for a brand to take the Vodafone Warriors to number one, and to “showcase themselves to a large crowd of passionate supporters.”

“We know that our fans are more inclined to purchase from our sponsors, so this is a big opportunity for a brand to come on board and to help us deliver ‘wow’ on game day, whilst also leveraging the opportunity for their own profile.”

“No idea is too big or too extreme – we really want to see proposals that include activities that have never been seen before in New Zealand, for companies to create an exciting and memorable experience for fans as a result.  It’d be the perfect opportunity for a company to get creative around launching a new product,” he says.

Benefits include inclusion in all match day advertising across NZME (media partner) and Vodafone Warriors platforms, EDMs, website and social channels, PA announcements promoting the game day, opportunity to show brand TVC (30 seconds) twice on the big screen at the game, opportunity to activate in-venue and on the field during the half-time break of the NRL match plus more.

Requests for a one-page proposal are due Wednesday 10 April with shortlisted companies invited to bring their idea to life in a presentation to a panel of Vodafone Warriors staff and management. The Vodafone Warriors will then commence a workshop with the successful company to develop the game day plan.
