2013 TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards: open for everything

Rejoice, industry award cravers, because go has been pushed on the call for entries for the TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards

Now into their 22nd year, the awards are the only programme that celebrates marketing in its totality. And they get bigger every year. Last year saw the introduction of eight new categories and an impressive 49 percent increase in the number of entries and a 32 percent increase in the number of unique entries.

The awards, sponsored by TVNZ for almost all of those 22 years, are a joint venture between NZ Marketing magazine (StopPress’s daddy) and the Marketing Association.

“The increase in the number of entries confirms that these awards are one that marketers want to win and the recognition as a marketing leader amongst their peers within their field is invaluable, and I hope to see some of the newer categories added last year such as automotive, technology, export, finance and banking, and utilities and communications show a stronger entry presence this year like the traditional FMCG and retail categories do,” says MA’s chief cheese and convener of judges Sue McCarty.

In total there are 13 industry awards, six judges’ choice awards and three individual awards. Last year VW took the supreme gong and Air New Zealand and former chief executive Rob Fyfe were awarded the inaugural Marketing Excellence Award.

Vincent Heeringa, publisher of NZ Marketing magazine says the awards are a high point in the marketing calendar. “It’s a moment when marketers can stand in the sun and receive the acknowledgement they deserve.”
