The cup runneth over for Effie revellers

The industry is gearing up for its Effie fest on Thursday night. And for those lucky/immensely talented enough to have made it through to the finals, as well as all the other tag alongs present for the festivities, there are plenty of extra-curricular activities on offer from the event sponsors, including the official post-awards shindig that’s being put on by The Radio Bureau (TRB) and New Zealand Post Targeted Communications’ slightly mysterious mobile-phone related tomfoolery.

TRB are bringing along Mike Havoc (BFM), Justin Sane (The Edge), Manchoo (Flava), Karn Hall (George) and General Lee (ZM) to play a few tunes at the Monte Christo Rooms on Nelson Street for the official after party (apparently Dave Fane isn’t invited this time after what happened when he turned up at the last TRB-sanctioned event).

If you’re going to the Effies, you can pre-register for the After Party by ‘Liking’ TRB’s After Party Facebook Page (details are also included on the Effie tickets) and you’ll automatically go in the draw to win iPads, iTouchs, mobile phones and car stereos. The winners will be announced in TRB’s T2 2010 Radio Survey release at 1pm on Friday afternoon and online at trb.co.nz.

Three photographers will be uploading photos straight to the Facebook Page from the party and you’ll be able to check yourself and everyone else out live on the big screens on the night, or online the next day.

New Zealand Post Targeted Communications is also getting in on the act, rather cryptically offering a prize “to last person standing”. Just don’t forget to bring your phone (not much danger of this, given it’s basically a fate worse than death for most in this industry) because the NZ Posties will be inviting guests to get involved in a virtual game that will see one lucky winner win a trip to one of Melbourne or Sydney. Further details will be revealed on the night.
