Stuff.co.nz brings home gold at W3

The stuff.co.nz mobile team has triumphed at the 2011 W3 Awards in Los Angeles, bringing home not one but two commendations from a pool of 3,000 plus entries.

Stuff took out gold in two categories: Mobile Applications – News category and Mobile Websites – News.

Fairfax Media’s Nigel Tutt said the mobile space was continuing to grow.

“International awards are always fantastic to win. It’s nice to know that the work we are doing here in New Zealand is getting recognised at such a high level,” he said.

“It’s been a big year for us in mobile and stuff.co.nz is now the most visited mobile site in the country.

“We’ve also launched apps for our Rugby Heaven Rugby World Cup coverage that we’re getting good downloads on. It’s an exciting space to be in.”

The W3 Awards honour outstanding websites, web marketing, web video, and mobile apps worldwide.
