Škoda New Zealand goes Big

Škoda New Zealand has appointed Big Communications as its strategic and creative agency, with James Yates, general manager of Škoda New Zealand saying that the agency presented a compelling strategy for the brand in a three-way pitch.
Yates, who thinks Škoda is well-positioned for significant growth over the next few years, says: “Big instinctively understood our issues, and their views on where the brand can go are consistent with ours. We wanted to find an agency that could handle our advertising, direct and digital requirements and they certainly demonstrated capability in all three areas. The pitch process involved a couple of strategic and creative briefs and Big nailed them both”.
Ant Salmon, managing director of Big, says the Czech car-maker is a great addition to the agency’s client list.
“With Škoda winning the UK Top Gear Luxury Car of the Year and Family Car of the Year awards in 2009, it’s a great time to be involved with the company. There’s already a mini-epidemic of people who realise that Škoda is producing great vehicles at outstanding value for money, and we look forward to working with James to help Škoda achieve its growth targets.”
Big will work with Škoda’s existing media partner OMD.
