Republik embraces America, revels in triple automotive whammee

After moving its media strategy and buying to Republik almost 18 months ago, big US brands Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge (CJD) have now, in another blow to previous account holders .99, formally appointed the agency to take care of its creative business after working together on a project basis for the past 10 months.

“There was no pitch involved. We’d been working with Republik on our media for about six months when we decided to make the move, and it just made sense for the same team to manage the creative and production side of our business. These are exciting times for CJD as we are experiencing significant growth and it is important to make sure we have a strong team working with us,” says Sime Darby’s general manager, Grant Smith.

Republik director and account director on the business, Heath Boot, says it’s a fantastic result for the Freeman’s Bay agency, which also works with Microsoft, New Zealand King Salmon, Fuji Xerox, Samsung and Peugeot.

“CJD’s a great client with three great car brands, so it doesn’t get much better than that when you love cars.”

This shift comes just a few days after it was announced that Big had taken over two of Motorcorp’s brands, Land Rover and Jaguar, from Publicis Mojo.
