OMD launches South Island presence

OMD now has a southern office, after acquiring the largest media agency in the South Island, ImMediate. Effective today ImMediate’s Christchurch office will become part of the Omnicom family.

OMD chief executive Nigel Douglas says he is thrilled to welcome the Christchurch team.

“Christchurch is a place we want to be. We see this as an opportunity to bring the best of our digital, data tech offering into the South Island market for the benefit of all the local businesses and organisations. Our aim is to help organisations achieve their goals and grow our businesses in this area together,” says Douglas.

ImMediate was launched by Sue McCrea in 2003 with a team of ten.

McCrea says this is an opportunity for her team to work with a “well-resourced agency so they can offer their clients the best tools and tech available in the market.”

“We are all looking forward to an amazing future under the OMD brand which can offer our clients local service with global connections. Christchurch has not had a global agency in this city for many years and I’m delighted as managing partner of OMD Christchurch to be part of that positive change for the city,” says McCrea.

The changeover means OMD is now the only New Zealand media agency with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
