Kiwis first off the rank as Ruskin helps Jim Beam make history—UPDATED

Jim Beam’s integrated global campaign Make History hit New Zealand shores last week with TVCs shot and produced largely in our country.

Actor Mila Kunis is the star of the show, which takes viewers on a journey through the ages with the drink brand as the backdrop. Auckland company Ruskin produced the TVCs with Nathan Price as director.

The clip shows Kunis from 1795 to the present day, in Jim Beam rackhouses and branding barrels. The footage of Kunis and the rackhouses was filmed offshore, with the rest shot locally.

“Our new campaign is about taking the next step in our own history and inspiring bourbon lovers to make their own history,” says local brand manager Kirsty Band.

“Jim Beam is all about experience and creating moments that people will remember. We want to know how Kiwi’s will be making history this year and encourage them to do it with us.

The company was the naming sponsor of the Homegrown festival in Wellington this month.

The three new TVCs will screen internationally in coming weeks. The campaign will also include TV, radio, digital, social and PR.

Update:

Jim Beam surprised concert goers at Jim Beam Homegrown recently by bringing Kora out to perform on the Dub n Roots stage as part of the #makehistory campaign.
