Google NZ head Stephanie Davis set to depart for Singapore

After a stint of 18 months, Google NZ country director Stephanie Davis has confirmed she will depart the local office to take on the role of country director for Google in Singapore.

Davis has been with Google for over ten years and moved to the New Zealand team at the beginning of last year, after a stint as the internet company’s managing industry director for travel.

“Since joining the New Zealand team last year, Stephanie has done a tremendous job leading our New Zealand operations and helped build a wonderful team,” said Google Australia and New Zealand managing director Jason Pellegrino in an official statement. “It is bittersweet news that she will be leaving New Zealand, but I am delighted to see her take up a new substantial leadership role for Google, based out of Singapore.”

Google is yet to announce a replacement for Davis but has commenced a search for potential candidates.

Davis is set to start her new role in August.

“I am really excited to take on this new opportunity in Singapore, but at the same time, I am sad to leave New Zealand and our team here,” she said in a statement.  “I have loved every minute in this beautiful and friendly country and it has been an honour to work with so many amazing people. There is no doubt our partners will be in great hands with our fantastic local team.”
