Get with the programme: CAANZ pushes ‘how-to’ session for revamped Media Awards

Given the recent overhaul to the CAANZ awards programme, those hoping for glory at this year’s Media Awards are being pushed in the direction of the ‘How to write an award winning entry’ workshop next Thursday so that entry writers can adapt to the changes.Led by Andrew Reinholds, managing partner of OMD, and Guy Cousins, strategic planning director at SparkPHD (who were both pivotal players in the overhaul of the awards and have each written their share of successful award entries), the two hour workshop will talk participants through the new awards process and entries template, provide practical advice and examples, and help participants understand what the judges will be looking for.

The workshop will be held from 9.00am – 11.00am, Thursday 9 February at The Media Design School in central Auckland.

Paul Head, CAANZ chief executive, says he strongly recommends that agencies consider sending a representative from their award entries writing team along.

“It’s not a sure-fire win, but it will definitely give your agency a competitive advantage in ensuring your campaigns are presented in the best possible light,” he says.

To register, participants can contact Steph McDonald before 12.00pm Wednesday 8 February. Further information is available from www.caanz.co.nz, under media awards.
