EFFIE finalists announced

The NZ EFFIE Awards finalists have been announced. Coming up trumps this year is DDB with 10 nominees. Colenso BBDO has nine but counting entries by Clemenger BBDO and Colenso & AIM Proximity makes the group total 14. Saatchi fares well with nine offerings in the ring. There are also multiple entries from Y&R, Special, Ogilvy, Draft FCB and .99.

Clients with the most appearances include Cadbury (from DDB), Yellow, Fonterra, Frucor (all from Colenso) and Green Party (Special).

Over 15 categories, there are 70 finalists. The stiffest competition will be in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Most Integrated Campaign categories, with 8–10 nominees each. Sadly, there is only one finalist in the Healthy Eating Active Lifestyles category – McDonald’s ‘My Greatest Feat’ campaign by DDB. What happened there people? Full list of finalists available here.

So mark your diaries on Thursday 8 October for the biggest annual bash for ad agencies. The formal ceremony will be at the Sky City Convention Centre and the after-party at Toto’s Montecristo Room in Nelson St. Go to the CAANZ website to order your tickets.
