Comms Council announces The Pressie Awards

The Commercial Communications Council has announced The Pressie Awards are back for a second year, after launching in 2018 as the PRESCom Awards.

The awards celebrate the best in PR, experiential and social media.

About the new name, PRESCom chair Gina McKinnon says it thought a fun and colloquial name might suit the awards better, given the campaigns they often recognise.

“People were calling them ‘The Pressies’ on the night last year, so it seemed appropriate to go with that.”

Last year it received 54 entires and it’s hoping this year more will climb out to show their support.

From today, judges are once again calling for entries for The Pressies.

Awards categories include Best Use of Media Relations, Best Sponsorship or Media Partnership, Best Use of Social Media and Best Experiential or Event.  An award for Bravest Client celebrates clients truly prepared to take risks and do things differently.

Convener of judges, Sean Brown, is expecting high-quality entries.

“Kiwi agencies in the PR, experiential and social media space are internationally recognised as being of a high standard, so we encourage all agencies to throw their hat in the ring for a Pressie and hopefully have their fine work acknowledged by the local industry and trade media”.

Entries close 15 October ahead of the awards event on 27 November.
