Colenso BBDO continues its golden run with George Weston Foods win

When it rains it pours, and new business is pouring all over Colenso BBDO at the moment, with the latest addition to its growing roster being George Weston Foods.

Previously, the company had shared its brands around a bit, with DDB handling Burgen and Tip Top, Assignment on Big Ben Pies and DraftFCB on Two Hands. But those brands have all been shifted into Colenso BBDO.

This account adds to Colenso BBDO’s recent wins for VW (which it also took off DDB), the entire Samsung portfolio, some additional Fonterra brands and a big project for Auckland Tourism. And going further back in time, it also snaffled a big chunk of IAG’s business and Tourism Fiji.

It’s thought the agency has made a number of new hires in recent months to cope with the workload (ex ASB marketer Deborah Simpson is currently working at the agency, focusing primarily on the BNZ business).

Interestingly, Sandra Geange, who was the general manager of marketing at Geogre Weston for over three years, left soon after the result of the pitch was announced to take up a job with its main competitor Goodman Fielder.
