The Breeze revisits ’80s classic for new campaign

The Breeze has released its latest marketing campaign, which features classic ’80s band Spandau Ballet performing their classic hit ‘True’.

The 30-second TVC features a young woman who has just returned to her bedroom from the shower and turns the radio tuning it to The Breeze as the romantic classic ‘True’ belts out of the speakers, causing the woman to wistfully sigh to herself.

A release from The Breeze says the TVC highlights The Breeze’s position of creating a moment to ‘take it easy’ in people’s busy lives.

The Breeze content director Ian Avery says the station was extremely lucky to work with Warner Music and smoothfm Australia to land the campaign.

“The Breeze, like smoothfm Australia’s, success is due to us playing a unique role in our audience’s busy lives and this TVC with the endorsement from such an amazing artist like Spandau Ballet, showcases the brands benefit beautifully.”

The release says The Breeze will present Spandau Ballet with special guest Nik Kershaw on May 10 this year at Auckland’s Vector Arena.

This TVC follows on from another artist-driven campaign series that began with Michael Bublé’s ‘Close Your Eyes’ which launched in August 2014.
