Adshel sales director to explore the Lion City

Adam Butterworth, Adshel’s sales director in Australia and New Zealand, has been promoted to chief executive officer of Clear Channel Singapore, where, according to insiders, there is approximately 20-30 percent less to talk about with work colleagues because the weather is always the same.

Butterworth has held the Australasian position with Adshel, a 50/50 joint venture between Clear Channel and APN News and Media Ltd, for five years and prior to this was sales director for Adshel in the UK. He has been with the Clear Channel group for 20 years.

“Being involved in the growth and success of Adshel in Australia and New Zealand has been incredibly rewarding and I look forward to the business opportunities awaiting me in Singapore,” Butterworth says. “I would like to thank all clients, business partners, directors and staff of Adshel in Australia and New Zealand and wish them all the best for the future.”

Steve McCarthy, Adshel’s CEO, says Butterworth has done a fantastic job strengthening the value of Adshel’s outdoor advertising proposition and contributed enormously to the company’s strategic direction, playing a substantial role in soon to be launched audience measurement tool MOVE.

Butterworth will leave Adshel and relocate to Singapore with his family early in Q2 and will report to Mark Thewlis, Clear Channel’s regional president, Asia Pacific.
