On Friday, Newsworks gave special mention to DraftFCB’s Prime TV ‘60 Minutes: Jimmy Spithill Interview’ ad, and DDB’s VW ‘Amarok’ commercial, giving each agency one additional point on the Agency League table.
This moves DDB above Ogilvy to top of the table, and DraftFCB now sits in fifth place on two points.
The judges’ panel, which was comprised by Tom Paine (Y&R), Keven Bachtiar (DDB) and Jonathan McMahon (Whybin/TBWA), felt that the Prime TV ad “had a bit of humour, was topical and [employed]a good use of newspaper and twink.” And DDB’s VW ad was applauded for “listing car benefits in a fresh way.”
The Agency League table forms part of the Newsworks ad of month the competition. Every month, the winners are awarded points, which then go towards the overall league. At the end of April 2014, the overall winner will be determined by which agency has accumulate the most points over the course of the year.
