Tim Wood departs YoungShand, heads to Sydney

Tim Wood has finished up his tenure at YoungShand to join R/GA in Sydney, a move that sees him return to his motherland.

Wood has been with YoungShand for the last three years, following a stint at RAPP, also as creative director.

About his move to R/GA, he says when invited to join it felt like the right thing to do, both in terms of taking on his next challenge as a creative director and also returning home with the family—which they always intended to do at some point.

His departure has seen Scott Maddox, who joined the agency last year as a creative director from Us&Co, step up to be the sole creative director. He will now run the creative team as a traditional creative director.

About Wood leaving, managing director Duncan Shand says he will be sad to see him go but is excited about what Maddox is going to do now he is in charge.

“Tim helped us shape YoungShand as a creatively-led digital agency and was responsible for many of our creative wins,” he says.

And while it’s not replacing Wood, Shand adds YoungShand is on the lookout for a new senior creative talent.

The moves follow the hire of a new client services director earlier this year. Emma Dalton was appointed to the position, joining from Y&R where she was also a senior account director.
