About joining KPEX, Birkenhead says having run various adtech and digital marketing businesses in Europe, he’s very aware of both the benefits and pitfalls of programmatically-served advertising.

As well as 20 years’ experience in large enterprises and smaller startups, Birkenhead’s resume includes a number of notable achievements: he has launched three new digital marketing businesses in Europe, received two Exceptional Contribution Awards from Google, and was the winner of 3M’s top global Marketing Excellence Award.

Sarah Judkins, KPEX Chair, says it’s delighted with the calibre and experience that Birkenhead will bring to KPEX and it looks forward to working with him.

KPEX, a joint partnership between NZME, Stuff, MediaWorks and TVNZ, provides real-time bidding access to the content publishers.

Birkenhead will commence his role on 1 August.
