Crossing the ditch

Neville Doyle has left his position as the planning director at Colenso BBDO to take up the role of director of digital strategy across the ditch at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

This brings an end to Doyle's almost-four-year stint at Colenso, during which he has worked on a number of large brands for the agency.

His portfolio of work at Colenso includes major campaigns for Mars, Burger King, Michael Hill and Amnesty International, and features some of the most innovative work to come out of the agency in recent years.

Pedigree's Found app, Burger King's anti pre-roll campaign and Amnesty International's collaboration with Adblock Plus are just some of the campaigns that Doyle has contributed in his time at the agency.      

This year, the 'Big Won Report' named him the sixth best planning director in the world. 

In joining Clemenger BBDO, he re-uintes with former Colenso BBDO chief executive Nick Garrett, who similarly crossed the ditch last year to lead Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

Doyle has been working at the Australian agency since October.

Colenso has not yet officially announced his replacement. 

Media to fizzy drinks

Emma Carter has left her role as communications manager at Fairfax and taken up the role of corporate affairs and communications director at Frucor.

Her departure from Fairfax comes after a two-year stint, which follows on from her previous role as senior communications manager at Vodafone.  

An experienced PR operator, Carter has previously also worked locally at Spark PR and Activate as well as at T Mobile in the UK.

Carter started at Frucor earlier this month, and her former role at Fairfax has been picked up by Phillipa Cameron, who has worked has worked in the marketing department at Fairfax since 2011 (as national brand manager over the last two years) and now holds the title of brand and communications manager.    

A numbers guy

Global big data analytics agency Datalicious, has announced the appointment of Christian Sykes as the new managing director for New Zealand. 

He replaces Kasmira Sewpershad, who departed in July to take on the role of project manager in the marketing department at TVNZ.  

Prior to joining Datalicious, Sykes spent ten years as country manager for Connexity Hitwise.

Christian Bartens, Datalicious’ founder and CEO, said Skyes was a natural choice for the role.

“We’re pleased to have someone with Christian’s experience in digital, who is so well known and respected in the industry. He has the intellectual rigour to help develop effective solutions for our clients.”

Datalicious established an office in Auckland in 2014, and has Spark, Vodafone and Genesis among its many clients in the country.

The business, founded in Australia, now operates globally, but sees opportunities to expand its offering in New Zealand.
