TVNZ has appointed Jonathan Symons to the new executive role of marketing director.
In taking on the role, Symons will be responsible for the company’s marketing, Blacksand, and research, data and insights teams.
He has been at TVNZ for four years as the general manager of research, data and insights, during which he’s led a massive shift in the way it listens to and learns from its viewers.
Prior to TVNZ, he’s held executive-level marketing positions at ASB and has worked in a range of media and agency roles.
About the appointment, chief executive Kevin Kenrick says: “Jonathan’s wide experience across marketing and insights, and his healthy obsession with being consumer-led make him the ideal candidate to lead the wider marketing team.”
Symons takes up his new role in January.
