Telecom accessorises Fashion Week with digi-bling

Telecom has given Fashion Week a digital edge with a new mobile site called Sheek.

The HTML site offers a quiz challenge with a chance to win a $5000 wardrobe with choices from Kiwi designers Hailwood, Andrea Moore, Zambesi, Annah Stretton, Huffer, Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, Cybele and Twentyseven Names.

It also has a video blog by former Miss New Zealand Amber Peebles and a ‘digital goodie bag’ for Telecom customers and delegates.

“We’ll have images of the designs hot off the runway, offering users insider access to the latest fashion trends and an ability to collate and share their picks for the season ahead,” says Telecom’s head of brand, communications and digital Kellie Nathan.

Telecom also wants users to upload show pictures to Instagram using #telecomsheek. Those whose photos are picked could win an HTC One smartphone.

The site content was designed and developed by Telecom and the New Zealand Sponsorship Agency, and built with help from Satellite.

Telecom says it took two months to build. It’s also offering Spotify playlists of tracks from the designer’s shows, compiled from a soundtrack supplied by event organisers.
