Pimp my mall: six shopping centres around NZ to get gigantic screens

Half-a-dozen Kiwi Property shopping centres will soon be getting massive state-of-the-art digital screens, reminiscent of Times Square in New York. Not only that, selected centres will also be getting interactive, touch screen panels. The screens, called Evoke screens, can play high definition, full-motion video.

They will be hung from the atriums of Kiwi Property shopping centres, such as Sylvia Park.

Other Kiwi Property shopping centres include LynnMall, Centre Place, The Plaza, North City and Northlands.

The company behind the screens, oOh!media, has made a $3 million investment into getting the technology into the New Zealand market.

oOh! CEO Brendon Cook says the company is serious about transforming retail media in New Zealand by introducing new digital solutions and upgrading existing tech.

“We are well on track to position our New Zealand retail offering as a world leader in digital solutions, including full motion video capability that has proven to deliver real engagement for clients in walk by and stand by environments like shopping centres,” Cook says.

“Kiwi Property is one of the leading shopping centre owners in the country and is continually investing in improving the retail experience for its customers.

“We’re thrilled to be playing an important part of that experiential journey.”

He says the digital screens and touch screen panels help advertisers create a deeper engagement with customers through linking together the physical, mobile, online and social experience.
