VMO expands retail media network with Dress Smart partnership

VMO has won the exclusive media rights across Dress Smart in New Zealand, further expanding its retail media network.

The Dress Smart in Onehunga, Auckland has recently been upgraded, while the Christchurch centre remains a key retail hub for the region.

Both centres are high-footfall destinations, hosting a mix of national and international retail and fashion brands. Collectively, the centres attract more than 5.5 million Kiwis annually.

Shopping destination

“The Dress Smart centres offer a great opportunity for brands to connect with diverse audiences across the retail journey and on the path to purchase,” says Matt Tremain, sales director, Val Morgan New Zealand.

“This partnership is just another example of how our retail network continues to go from strength to strength, offering even more opportunities for our clients to connect more broadly across the country.”

Dress Smart Auckland centre manager Lauri Solecki adds: “We are excited to partner with VMO to bring premium digital media into our centre. Dress Smart is already a destination for millions of shoppers each year, and this partnership will enhance the customer experience while giving brands a powerful platform to connect with our shoppers.”

These centres have increased VMO’s total number of retail locations contracted to 28, with further growth planned over the coming year.

The rollout of the screens commenced ahead of the busy Christmas and New Year period, last year, with the centres collectively hitting record foot traffic with 400,000+ shoppers through the doors in the month of December.

Commitment to the market

“We’re one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing retail media providers, and this partnership with Dress Smart shows our ongoing commitment to the market,” says VMO New Zealand commercial director Rob Forsyth.

“In 2026, we plan to continue our growth trajectory and roll out even more locations, further increasing our reach and providing brands and our clients more coverage and ability to reach shoppers every day.”

VMO’s retail network now encompasses more than 170 digital screens across approximately 30% of retail locations in New Zealand.
