Mazda puts the ‘BT’ into the BT-50

Mazda and 99 are continuing to brandish the brawny BT-50 ute, showcasing its multiple uses from beach trips to boat transport and transporting beastly trevally.

Like all great ute advertisements, the BT-50 is seen taking for the hills, trekking over rugged terrain, and doing skids in the mud. Additionally, Mazda poses the rhetorical question, what puts the ‘BT’ in BT-50? Before showcasing a range of shots of the BT-50 carrying brown trousers, bark transport, and baby trees.

Since being shared on Facebook last week, the ad has drawn suggestions from Mazda fans around what the ‘BT’ could stand for, including bacon and tomato, backyard truck, beach toys, bitumen track, broken toe, bloody tough and be there.

The spot continues from the last campaign that put the ‘utility’ back in ute by highlighting its wide-ranging versatility and broadening its reputation from a vehicle for tradies to a vehicle with value for urban folk, boat owners, campers and do-it-yourselfers.
