Sandra King calls it a day at NZME

Sandra King has resigned from NZME after spending just under two years with the publisher as its group director of commercial.

According to NZME, King resigned from her position in June.

King was responsible for sales revenue strategy development across NZME, implementing market analysis, identifying and advising on new revenue streams and core audiences.

A statement from the publisher says King has moved on to pursue a new opportunity.

“This means helping them recognise that new digital technologies present multiple growth opportunities, helping them define their vision, their commercial and operating strategies, to adapting and transitioning their offerings to meet customers’ changing needs and expectations,” the statement says.

The NZME statement thanked King for what she has accomplished in her time with the publisher and wishes her well in her new venture, saying it won’t be losing touch.

A lot has happened at NZME since King has been with the business, including a massive restructure of NZME’s various brands and a move into an integrated newsroom.

Before her time at NZME, King worked as PPR NZ’s country manager and head of strategy, a role she took up after spending nine years and eight months at Fairfax as group sales and marketing manager, a position she held until early 2013.

StopPress has received confirmation that King is in the process of setting up her own business.
