By

Start spreadin’ the news… NZ’s own Dave King, M&C Saatchi NZ’s executive creative director, has won the prestigious Irving Wunderman award at the 34th John Caples International Awards Gala, held recently in New York. In fact, the entire Kiwi contingent will be ‘waking up in the city that doesn’t sleep’ to find they’re ‘king of the hill, top of the heap’–between them they managed to bring home 50 awards from a record 51 finalist places (that’s one more than Australia, thank you very much), including seven Golds, 12 Silvers, six Bronzes and 25 Finalists. That’ll melt those little town blues.

RAPP Tribal: turning phone bills into fairy tales

NZ Post certainly doesn’t like the trend towards receiving bills electronically, but it makes a lot of sense in these digital, environmentally conscious times. RAPP Tribal Wellington recently said goodbye to its general manager Sean Keaney after he took up a position with AIM Proximity. Just like a three dimensional human wingman, only virtual

The wingman. When employed correctly, they’re the one person you can count on to bail you out when you’re being hit on by someone in a bar you can’t stand, or, conversely, when you need a hand to seal the deal. But ever heard of a digital wingman? As part of its new campaign to celebrate the return of the Chick’n McCheese, together with the launch of the new spicy Chicken McWings, McDonald’s has teamed up with DDB Group to deliver a campaign that employs the use of puns as well as a virtual wingman to “talk you up”.
