What inspires Dame Julie Walters?

Dame Julie Walters takes a trip down memory lane in a new campaign for British opticians Vision Express.

Having delighted audiences in a variety of roles in from Harry Potter, Calendar Girls, A Short Stay in Switzerland and Brooklyn, the actress revisits some of her most influential roles to see how they’ve been inspired by what she saw around her.

The spot watches as she mimics those she sees on the screen, takes to the stage to perform and receive an award, plays a dance teacher in Billy Elliot and cares for a baby when training to be a nurse.

“When you treasure everything you see, you never want to stop looking,” Walters says at the end to encourage the audience to go and get their eyes tested.

This spot follows n from a successful 2015 campaign that took a look at the life of Sir Trevor McDonald, a Trinidadian-British newsreader and journalist, who was witness to many world changing events, forced to flee terror and saw the resilience of the human spirit.
